Zermatt is car-free, and that single fact defines the transfer. The road ends at Täsch, and every vehicle that is not a resident permit holder stops there. A supplier who quotes you a fare to Zermatt without saying so is quoting a journey that cannot be driven.
What we do is drive to the Täsch terminal, unload at the shuttle platform, and see the luggage onto the train for the last few minutes into the village. It is a clean handover when it is planned and a scramble when it is not.
